Do you like using your creativity for a good cause? The Chicago Center for Jewish Genetic Disorders’ Associate Board provides a meaningful leadership opportunity especially for those with busy schedules, and meets quarterly at fun, convenient locations in Chicago. Be part of the Center’s mission: empower community members to seek out information and prevention strategies on Jewish genetic disorders and hereditary cancers and ensure the health and well-being of future generations. Associate Board members advise the Center on new programs that spread this message to their peers in innovative and exciting ways. Some potential and ongoing Associate Board projects include:
- Jean Therapy, combining discounts at local boutiques with awareness campaigns
- Yoga classes that relate fitness to health issues
- Cocktail hours and guest speakers for young professionals
- Your next great idea!
Our Associate Board members are truly the Center’s ambassadors, advocating important health issues and Center programs and services throughout the community. Members also supply valued expertise to the Center’s Board of Directors and Advisory Board, which rely on the Associate Board’s recommendations for projects of interest to their respective peers.
Associate Board members sit on planning committees for one to two events per year, which includes phone and email involvement. We ask only for a one-year commitment, though we certainly encourage those interested to remain on the board for longer!
